Pattern Viewer Xpress (PattViewX) is a completely rewritten PattView release for Animal Crossing: City Folk. The main goal behind the project was to take what works with PattView v2.1 and make it more user-friendly and accessible. The result is PattViewX, a more compact, faster, and simpler pattern editor for Animal Crossing: City Folk.

Some of its new features include:
- View, edit, and share all of your favorite patterns!
- Now supports 316 patterns! (standard 60 with 64 Able's storage for each player)
- Edit your letters with paper previews straight from the game!
- Convert your Anicro Desapro saves into PattView files for easy importing!

In-depth Guide/Review

The creator of PattViewX offered me a press demo version of this program that included all of the features and I have decided to write a guide/review about it. I am not a VIP member of Game-Hackers but I recommend you to become one since it has many great features. With that said, I introduce to you: PattViewX



Firstly the menu is a lot smaller and more compact. And it has all of the features available. Take a look at what each icon is for:


 

I will now explain some of the features that PattViewX has. The screenshot feature takes a screenshot of the pattern you currently have selected. It saves the image as a .bmp. This feature is useful for when you want to put your pattern available for download on a site and you can include the screenshot of your pattern along with the .pat file.



The Import and Export feature is a essential feature for PattView/X. You can import patterns that you have downloaded from the internet or made yourself to any of the pattern slots available and you can export patterns you have made or edited in PattView/X.

The .acs to .pat converter is for converting .acs patterns you have made in anicro desapro or anicro murapro to .pat files for importing to any pattern slot. Click here for a .acs to .pat guide.



The Pattern Editor is the main feature in PattView/X and It has improved a lot from the original PattView since it loads the patterns impressively fast and editing is fast too.



The Letter Editor is an interesting feature. You can edit any letter from any of the 4 players. You can change the present that is attached to it, change the stationery and, of course, edit the main letter.



The Pattern Detail editor is another cool feature. You can change the details of any pattern from "Pattern Name", "Pattern Creator", and "Creator's Town".



So in conclusion, PattViewX is a beefed out PattView with extra features yet it has a simple feel to it. It also runs more smoothly and loads pretty fast as compared to PattView 2.1.
